The Spring Bloom Shoot That Made Me Ugly-Cry with Gratitude

The Vision (Because I Have Those Sometimes)
This shoot wasn’t just a pretty spring fling—it was a carefully orchestrated symphony of planning, decorating, and making sure Sidecar Stella (my mobile bar trailer) didn’t upstage everything (though let’s be honest, she tried). Months of work went into:
Themed decor packages (because if it’s not Instagram-worthy, did it even happen?)
A charcuterie cart that moonlights as a dessert display (two carts in one—efficiency, baby!)
Coordinating colors, textures, and vibes like some kind of Pinterest-worthy drill sergeant
And somehow, it all came together without a single fire extinguisher being needed. (Unless you count the fire of my passion for Sidecar Stella.)
The People Who Made It Possible (Yes, I’m Crying)
Now, back to the real reason for this post—because no amount of planning replaces the humans who show up and make magic with you.
So folks, gather ‘round because I have feelings—like, a lot of them—and I need to gush about the incredible humans who made our stylized spring bloom shoot happen. If you’ve ever tried to wrangle decor, food, a mobile bar trailer named Sidecar Stella (yes, she’s a diva), and a small army of loved ones into one flawless day, you know it’s basically like herding cats while also juggling cupcakes. But somehow, we did it. And by "we," I mean everyone but me, because I was mostly just flailing around in gratitude.
First, let’s talk about Candy, the MVP of craftiness and bravery. This woman painted, cleaned, organized, and even modeled in a dress that arrived late and fit like it was sewn by a blindfolded squirrel. Did she complain? Nope. She smiled like the dang goddess that she is and owned it. Then there’s her husband, Matt, who not only put the finishing touches on Stella (making her the trailer equivalent of a supermodel) but also stepped in front of the camera like a champ. Couples who slay together, stay together.
Next up: Janelle, my ride-or-die for almost 40 years. She’s the human equivalent of a GPS for my chaos—always 10 steps ahead, knowing what I’ll freak out about before I do. She’s my rock, my hype woman, and probably the reason I haven’t accidentally glued myself to a craft project yet. Janelle, if you’re reading this, you’re a wizard and I love you.
Then there’s my daughter, who showed up with a smile so bright it could power Sidecar Stella’s twinkle lights. She’s the one who tells me I’m more fabulous than I am (questionable) and loves me like I deserve—which, honestly, is the kind of emotional support that should be bottled and sold.
And let’s not forget my two brilliant nieces, who worked their tails off and somehow made me look fun in a video (a miracle, given my acting skills). They giggled, they styled, and they embraced the chaos—proof that good genes run in the family
Rounding out the dream team: Gigi and Kim, the dynamic duo who hauled Stella, cheered me on, and basically became my emotional support humans. Kim even played trailer-whisperer to make sure Stella stayed put on my nieces’ truck. Gigi, you’re a gem, and I’m keeping you.
Last but never least, Mom and Marcel—the behind-the-scenes heroes who make everything possible. Marcel, Stella may have stolen the show, but you’re the real star.
So, how do you thank people when "thank you" feels as inadequate as a single sprinkle on a cupcake? I don’t know. But if you’re reading this, please know: you’re the reason my heart is full, my eyes are leaky, and my life is ridiculously blessed. Also, I owe you all snacks. Lots of snacks.
How do you show gratitude when words aren’t enough? Drop your ideas below—because I’m fresh out, aside from writing embarrassingly emotional blog posts and/or baking excessive amounts of cookies. 🍪💖
